A: The wireless headset does not record onto a device that you carry around. The headset transmits your speech back to the laptop where voice commands and dictation are processed.
A: The wireless headset transmitter/reciever connects to the laptop via a USB port. The wireless headset transmits at 900 Mhz and automatically finds an open secure channel. This is similar to a household cordless telephone.
A: The wireless headset has a specified range of 200 feet and transmits through walls and ceilings. Actual results have demonstrated distances that exceed the 200 foot specification.
A: As you approach the range limit, the headset will beep two times to warn you before you reach the range limit. If you remain out of range for more than 15 minutes the headset will turn off.

A: When the headset battery is running low(about 5 minutes left) an audible beep will be heard through the headset as a single beep repeated every 10 seconds.

A: The wireless headset uses a noise cancellation microphone to minimize background noise. This is done using two microphones - one facing inward and one facing outward.Because of this configuration, wind can affect the performance of the microphone. To avoid this, turn your back to the wind to shield the microphone when outside on windy days. You can also cup your hand over the microphone to block out the wind noise.
A: During the trial period after you have become familar with the Interspect user interface, we recommend purchasing an inexpensive wired headset to try out the voice commands integrated into the software. Plantronics sells the Audio 310 which works very well with the Interspect Voice Module. You can find this microphone at local electronic shops.
